Established in 1921, the colliery operated as an underground coal mine until 1969 and today remains a remarkably intact industrial landscape with a range of surviving structures. There are only three known collieries surviving in Queensland including the former Acland No. 2 Mine and Converge has also prepared a CMP for this place.

The CMP provides a strategic roadmap to safeguard this unique heritage asset. It sets out clear, action able conservation policies supported by a practical implementation plan and a tailored maintenance program. Together, these tools equip the Baralaba Coal Company with a confident, future‑focused approach to managing, protecting, and celebrating the site’s heritage values.
