Constructed in 1949, the building is recognised for its uncommon architectural style, which contributes to its cultural significance. Converge has worked on a number of fire stations over the years as part of local heritage studies and the unusual style of the former Redcliffe Fire Station is unlike any others we have come across.
Following its redevelopment in 2013, the former fire station now functions as an art gallery and community hub.
The CMP provides a structured framework to guide the ongoing heritage management of this State-significant place. It includes detailed conservation policies, an action plan to support their implementation, and a practical maintenance plan to ensure the building’s day‑to‑day care aligns with best‑practice heritage principles.
