Samford Parklands Archaeological Assessment

City of Moreton Bay engaged Converge Heritage + Community to deliver a comprehensive archaeological assessment of the Samford Parklands site—an area rich in historical layers, from the mid‑19th‑century Samford Run to the early 20th‑century Samford Hotel and later the CSIRO Samford Pasture Research Station.

Drawing on our specialist expertise, we undertook detailed desktop research and an on‑site assessment to identify and evaluate the site’s archaeological and heritage values. Our findings informed tailored strategies to guide the project’s planning and ensure responsible heritage management. Following completion of archaeological monitoring we undertook an accessioning program for the artefacts found on site.
